The show is called “Above and Beyond” . Our venue is the Lakewood Cultural Center. Art will be on display in the a formal gallery, an atrium and mezzanine. Three dimensional work will be included in the exhibit. There will not be a size limitation.
Consideration for inclusion in this exhibit will first be given to pieces demonstrating imagination, originality, and the use of unusual elements in conception, execution, and finishing. Selections must show mastery of the highest standards in composition and construction.
This exhibit explores the multiverse as metaphor for the vast area of creative possibilities open to the art quilter and fiber artist. The show will feature leading edge pieces that may use some traditional elements of the quilt, or those works using “right now” elements, or anything in between.
Look for the Call for Entry in April on the SAQA website. Artists will be submitting work for consideration in the fall.
